Nuclear Option with Dorothy Van Soest

Watch the event that took place on

Tuesday, June 29, 2021

7:00 PM  8:30 PM

WAMM’s Zoom gathering was at 7:00pm, Tuesday, June 29, 2021, when activist and writer Dorothy Van Soest presented slides and read from her newly-published mystery novel, Nuclear Option.

Dorothy was an early supporter of WAMM and, in the early years, co-wrote with Mary White “Empowerment of People for Peace,” a booklet to guide WAMM people in becoming anti-nuclear and pro-justice activists. Dorothy has retired from her professional roles in universities around the nation, and she turned a creative corner into writing fiction – mysteries, even! In the process, she has developed a complex character, Sylvia Jensen, who struggles against personal demons while taking on the huge burden of saving lives of endangered friends while learning about “atomic veterans” and confronting the deadly nuclear weapons industry in Dorothy’s newest novel.

Nuclear Option books are available now in the WAMM office for a donation of $20 or more. Call the WAMM office at 612-827-5364 to arrange picking up your book or having it delivered to you.
